Booms
Containment Booms are deployed to reduce the risk of pollution reaching the shore, banks or other environmentally sensitive areas. They do this by creating a floating barrier to contain surface liquid pollutants such as oil and/or debris for a more effective recovery. They may also be used as a means to divert, deflect or create and exclusion area to protect sensitive and vulnerable habitats. Containment Booms can also be referred to as Floating Barriers, Oil & Fuel Booms and Debris Booms.
Made in Australia, Envirosmart Containment Booms are dispatched folded and arrive on site ready to deploy. They are manufactured using premium materials, including Marine Grade components and are available in Type 1, Type 2 and a Type 3 custom engineered design.
Type 1:
- Float Chamber & Chain Pocket: PVC 400gsm Yellow, UV stabilised.
- Floatation: square 100mm PE Buoyancy Foam.
- Skirt: 300mm Industrial Mesh. - 370GSM UV stabilised, high tensile.
- Ballast: 6mm Galvanised chain
- Connectors: 25mm Webbing loops & Velcro
- Tensioners: 25mm webbing below float chamber & above chain pocket.
Type 2:
- Float Chamber & Chain Pocket: PVC 610gsm Yellow, UV stabilised, HD.
- Floatation: square 100mm PE Buoyancy Foam.
- Skirt: 300mm Industrial Mesh. - 370GSM UV stabilised, high tensile.
- Ballast: 6mm Galvanised chain
- Connectors: ASTM F962 Z Connectors
- Tensioners: 50mm webbing above & below float chamber & 25mm webbing above chain pocket.
Type 2:
- Float Chamber & Chain Pocket: PVC 610gsm Yellow, UV stabilised, HD.
- Floatation: square 100mm PE Buoyancy Foam.
- Skirt: 300mm Industrial Mesh. - 370GSM UV stabilised, high tensile.
- Ballast: 6mm Galvanised chain
- Connectors: ASTM F962 Z Connectors
- Tensioners: 50mm webbing above & below float chamber & 25mm webbing above chain pocket.

Type of Silt Curtains
Type 1:
Designed for protected or sheltered water ways where variables such as wind, currents and waves are minor.
Type 2:
Designed for conditions with mild moving water, wind and waves may be present.
Type 3:
Designed for more challenging conditions including faster moving water flows, greater wind exposure, increased wave activity, tidal waters in rivers and bays.
