We are passionate about leaving a positive impact on the environment, because we believe that Earth is a place worth fighting for! On the other hand, we are appreciative of the fact that projects and production schedules need to run on time, and businesses need to make sustainable profits. We believe that all of this can be achieved through the adoption of technology and innovation.
At EMI, our purpose is to empower decision makers, within the Environmental Management profession, to choose smarter, more effective ways of preserving the environment. In so doing, we also believe that our products help create efficiency and more effective environmental programs for companies. We are unapologetically passionate about the protection of the environment, while completely appreciating the need for customers’ commercial success. While we hold these two principles in mind, our purpose has become our motivational drive. Our team at EMI is consistently driven by this meaningful purpose.
Our Approach - Built on Innovation
While there are a number of distributors looking to supply required ‘site consumables’, EMI looks at providing a solution in a different way. We search the Australian and Global markets for the most innovative environmental products. These products need to demonstrate one or all of the following characteristics for EMI to invest in the distribution of the product:
1. Demonstrates innovation which solves problematic areas for Environmental Managers.
2. Reduces a company’s environmental impact through innovation.
3. Reduces the cost of environmental practices through innovation.
4. Protects our customers wellbeing through liability and risk minimisation.
As we have approached the industry this way, rather than simply trying to ‘sell products’, we have found that customers have become long-term partners. We work with our clients, in the quest to provide cutting edge solutions and industry leading innovations. Jeanne Evans
CEO & Founder
Having owned and managed a successful, Brisbane based industrial supply company, Jeanne felt that her passion was not predominantly in ‘wholesale distribution’ but in ‘innovation’. Further to this, she felt that her next business venture needed to have a sense of purpose.
Jeanne wanted to create a legacy and began researching whether she could combine her passion for environmental sustainability with her understanding of industry innovation and technology. Having researched the environmental supply sector, Jeanne was interested to note that most suppliers were driven by the ‘hard sell’ approach. While the safety industry had multiple information and innovation suppliers, the environmental space had not yet advanced to this level.
This prompted Jeanne to make her dream a reality.
Not long after, EMI was founded.
Steve Wardle
Sales Manager & Founder
Steve has a long history of working in the civil, construction, and mining industries, and has managed and operated successful enterprises in these fields. One of Steve’s lifelong passions has been environmental conservation, with the awareness that a businesses must still be able to earn a profit.
Steve and Jeanne have formed a partnership with the intent of discovering innovative products that are both environmentally friendly and economically effective. EMI has a vision, and that mission is to be selective in the items we source and promote. We only form supply partnerships with people and companies that share EMI’s environmental vision.
